Decision Making at the end of Life – 3 CEUS

The literature on treatment of terminal patients, euthanasia, brain death, and other issues related to dying has expanded significantly in recent decades. There remains a paucity of publications on how these issues are handled across countries. The few cross-national studies that have been published usually include several countries especially the western ones. This course brings together policy experts from a wide array of countries that are coping with end-of-life issues. How are the issues defined? What is the level of debate? How are terminally ill patients treated by their respective health care systems?
