In this course you will learn about many bacteria and several parasitic protozoans encountered by health care workers in U.S. outpatient practices, hospitals, and nursing homes. You will learn about some of the numerous types of diseases, such as Bacillus anthracis, and Corynebacterium diphtheriae. You will discover the transmission route these diseases take when spreading as well as the contagion period, the recommended precautions, the health care worker infection risks, and the work restrictions. In addition, you will study the viruses, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis C.
